Pie charts: calculating angles and constructing

In this lesson
Calculate the angle for each category on a pie chart from a frequency table, construct the pie chart accurately, and convert pie-chart proportions back into actual frequencies given a total.
What it covers
- Finding the total frequency from a table, then calculating the scale factor 360 divided by that total
- Multiplying each category's frequency by the scale factor to find its angle, and checking all the angles sum to exactly 360
- Plotting a pie chart accurately using a protractor and ruler, and labelling each sector
- Converting a pie-chart sector's proportion back into an actual frequency when given the total number of items it represents
- Comparing sectors from two pie charts of different sizes, using their totals rather than comparing the sectors visually
